what is doodlehatch?

With a goal to inspire creativity in artists, educators and the community in a playful fantasy environment, DoodleHATCH is Howard County's newest attraction!

Step through the doors and discover a place where aliens dock for repairs, unicorns come to be groomed, zombies replace missing body parts and creatures of all kinds can assemble. DoodleHATCH is a one-of-a kind, fun and affordable destination for humans seeking something new and different to do. This pretend department store was built inside a huge unused supermarket by 41 artists. It serves mythical creatures of fairy tales, ghost stories, and other worlds (and curious humans.)

Enjoy an interactive walk through fantasy realms. Visit the Stargate, Fairy Village, the Hobbit House, the Space Station, the Dead and Breakfast, and 30 other installations.

I don't think there's anything quite like this. It's like... a children's museum if it was made by artists? But it's pretty cool for non-kids, too. For about a week after we left, I could tell a difference in my kids (9 and 12) in terms of how they played with each other. They were much more creative. This place is a stimulant for the mind.

We had a wonderful magical experience! Great for all ages! Everything there is very creative and just really pretty! Most of the things there are made out of household items. One of the mannequins glasses are made out of spoons and forks! The children are allowed to touch everything. There are carousel ponies that you can sit on and move around. The kids can help paint a mural that will be in the front of the building. Kids 7 and under can paint a cardboard building inside. Overall the entire place is like a wonderland! We had a lot of fun. I recommend coming there

My family and I enjoyed exploring through the mythical Departments in DoodleHatch. It was a whimsical art experience. We followed the yellow road and met some cool aliens, sipped tea with two fancy skeleton ladies in the dark woods and more. We were able to create our own art, my daughter painted a narwhal.
We can’t wait to come back!

DoodleHATCH joins the FantasyWood Festival as the newest addition to the ManneqART family.

ManneqART is a national arts and education nonprofit organization that inspires creativity, teaches problem solving skills, and rewards excellence in the creation of “Sculpture on the Human Form.” We host an annual competition, skill building workshops, public artwork displays, and an annual awards event.

ManneqART ManneqMADNESS is an annual competition held by ManneqART that presents a simple challenge. Create a “Wearable Sculpture” that falls into one of our four themes. Artists from all over the country attend competition day to have their artwork displayed on a live model and photographed and judged on its artistic merits.

The FantasyWood Festival is a magical 3 day experience being held in Columbia, Maryland.

Come join us for a walk in the woods with surprises around each corner. Meet mermaids and fairies, watch knights duel and even see a live unicorn!

With 40 specialty vendors, different themed areas, amazing entertainers, and kid friendly activities, there's something for the whole family to enjoy.
