Basic Fashion Design Class Advanced (2 Hours)

Wednesday’s pattern making class is required. Having measured yourself, and created a paper pattern for a basic top that fits you exactly with or without sleeves in the previous class you are now ready to move along to selecting fabric. Select a stretch knit fabric. Lay out your paper pattern in the stretch direction, pin and cut out the pieces. One of the seamstresses in Lee’s factory will machine-sew the shoulders, inset the sleeve, and close the side seams for you while you watch. They will reinforce all the beginning and ends of the sewing so your raw edges are a contemporary look that will hold up in the washing machine for many washes!
